Far from Home

I want to be at home
I want to be at home
Toronto suck, like a duck
I want to be at home

I sit in my room and dream of home
I walk the streets and think of home
I eat my food and think of home
I want to be at home

The weeks go slowly
as home draws near
The days go slowly as family calls me near
I want to be at home

My wife, my kids
My place, my bed
I want to be at home

I'm lonely and tired
I'm lazy and sick
I'm cold and numb
I'm talking to myself
I want to be at home

I wan to be at home
I want to be at home
Toronto sucks, like a duck
I want to be at home

Late

Nothing like working on a project late into the night. The group will be happy once Tuesday evening rolls around and we don't have to think about the rest of the work until March or April.

We have finished up the rest of our Communtiy Health Project. We are presenting information on Early Childhood Cavities to expecting Mothers, but it's not as easy as just putting one thing together. We needed a lesson plan, a slide presentation, a poster board, a games to evaluate our program, and a full booklet of information to be handed into out teacher. Logistically it seems simple, but than you add in 4 totally different people, different ideas, different plans, and different creativity and you get the confusion and opinions. Through all of that, I believe we have used our strengths and differences to make a project that we are all happy in. No, we may not enjoy every aspect of it, but we feel good with the overall work and team effort.

JOB WELL DONE to Natiya, Mindi, and Michelle L.

So, now it is time for bed to get rested for studying tomorrow!!

Hobos and Guns

"Chilly to my Willy." That is the best way to tell you how cold it was. The sun was shining but the wind blew.

Along with Poonam, Trish, and Natter, I spent 1 and 1/2 hours standing in the hallway of a local school waiting to talk to mother's who were registering their children for kindergarten; about taking care of the child's teeth and promoting Regency as a place to come to.

Instead of talking to parents we spent the time talking to Kindergarteners, Grade 3's and Grade 8's, about nutrition and tooth brushing. After shaking off the nerves, it turned into a great time interacting with the kids. Some had a great understanding of how to clean their teeth and others just didn't care.
When Trish and I were talking to the Grade 3's about nutrition; I asked the question, "What are good foods to eat?" The kids gave answers like, apples, grapes, tomatoes, rice, pears, etc. Than I asked the question, "What are bad foods for you teeth?" The kids answered chocolate, candy, sugar, etc. But there was one boy at the front who had his hand up. I pointed to him, and he answered, "Hobo's are not good for your teeth." Being shocked by the answer we asked him if he said, "Hobo's?" He said, "yap." The only thought that went through my head was, "ok, lets ask another child to answer." Than the boy at the front put his hand up again. I decided to go to him, and with a smile he answered, "Guns aren't good for your teeth." "Yap", I said, "they aren't!" Although the boy was being funny, he was right. Hobo's and gun's are not good for you to eat. They would probably cause some damage to your teeth.

So next time you plan to eat a hobo or a gun, please remember the wise words of a 8 year old. "They aren't good for your teeth."

Crazy Tonight

This is currently my favorite song by U2.

I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight

She's a rainbow and she loves the peaceful life
Knows I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight

There's a part of me in chaos that's quiet
And there's a part of you that wants me to riot
Everybody needs to cry or needs to spit
Every sweet-tooth needs just a little hit
Every beauty needs to go out with an idiot
How can you stand next to the truth and not see it?
Change of heart comes slow..

It's not a hill it's a mountain
As you start out the climb
Do you believe me or are you doubtin?
We're gonna make it all the way to the light
But I know I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight

Every generation gets a chance to change the world
Divination that will listen to your boys and girls
Is the sweetest melody the one we haven't heard?
Is it true that perfect love drives out all fear?
The right to be ridiculous is something I hold dear (My Favorite Line)

But change of heart comes slow...

It's not a hill it's a mountain
As you start out the climb
You see for me I've been shoutin
But we're gonna make it all the way to the light
But I know I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight

Baby, baby, baby, I know I'm not alone
Baby, baby, baby, I know I'm not alone
Ha, ha, ha

It's not a hill it's a mountain
You see for me I've been shouting
Let's shout until the darkness, squeeze out sparks of light
You know we'll go crazy
You know we'll go crazy
You know we'll go crazy, if we don't go crazy tonight

Stones

So my great, amazing sister in law is going for surgery tomorrow. I am sure she is nervous, but I haven't talked to her so in my head I believe she is looking at this as an adventure. Like when you were a kid and went to get your eyes tested, or maybe a trip to Disney World, but in your dreams.

In honour of Lis', who likes to bug me about my bawling as her sister walked down the aisle. I thought I would come up with interesting things you could do with your Gallstones.

Multi-Purpose Stones

They can be used as teaching tools to help other people avoid getting them.

They can be used as cat toys.

They can be used as decorative arrangements in glass jars, window sills, and fish ponds.

They can be dissected by Ben and the mineral composition found.

They can be used as grinding stones.

They can be used to throw at stray animals that wonder onto your yard.

They can be used as games pieces.

They can be used in a sling shot.

They can be used as jewlery... just drill a hole.

They can be used as "ice-breaker" sitting on your coffee table.

They can be used as models for photography.

Ben can keep one to always have a part of you, enzymes and minerals, close to him always.

Two words... Christmas Gifts!

Suck on them for mineral replacement... Recycling.

Rock Salts in the Bath.

Well, Lis' the list is not exhausted. I wish you all the best tomorrow. I will be thinking about you and praying for ya.

IT's Me

"I thought I was in trouble, but it turned out I just crapped my pants."

"Hey green thing on my shoulder, can you pick the wax out of my ear?"

"If I were a cowboy... ok, stop there. That would never happen!"

"I am there like a white man. I am white so I'll be there."

"Today I trimmed my foot fungus."

"Tomorrow I will cut the weeks worth of Cling-On's out of my crack."

"Sometimes I pretend I'm a famous actor and that no one really cares."

"I love watching the people run from one subway to the next."

"I take joy in other peoples pain." (I told that to a Kamloops radio station when they asked me why I was shopping on Christmas Eve.)

"It is a strange feeling to be watch by men as I walk down the street."

"Why do people in downtown Toronto have GREAT DANES for pets?"

"I've seen more Eskimo jackets in Toronto, than I did in Northern Alberta!"

"I bit if I farted no one would know it was me?"

"I thought someone gave me a wedgie, but it turned out I grabbed the wrong underwear."

"When night comes, I want to stay up. And when morning come I want to sleep."

SNL DeepThoughts for Saturday

“Instead of a trap door, what about a trap window? The guy looks out it, and if he leans too far, he falls out. Wait. I guess that's like a regular window. - Deep Thoughts (Saturday Night Live)”

Saturday was a day to rest and relax. So you get a quote.

Save Yourself

I have faced many fears in life. Fear of police cars, fear of the toilet, fear of my Mom, but there was one fear that came later in life. That was the fear of my Mother-in-law. She never gave me a physical reason to fear her, but I believe it is an emotional 'save yourself' mechanism that every young man feels when marring into a different family. It could also be that fact that my Mom always told me that my future wifes Mom would never like me, like she does! You would think a normal fear would be toward the future Father, but for me it was the Mother.

It was summer time, and Ang and I decided to go and visit her parents in Sorrento. Erv was just starting his 28th, 10 year plan, which is now the place we live in, and if I remember correcly I think Ang was pregnant with our first child.
It was late afternoon, and the sky was fairly clear. Ang and I pulled into the dusty driveway, in the dreaded Chevy Cavalier. Erv was hard at work, as usual, and over to the side was a lady with a shovel. Ang and I hadn't even gotten out of the car, when the lady (Ev), turned swinging the shovel and yelling something. Ang waved pleasantly, but I was suddenly overcome with fear for my life. I had pictured this moment since we reported that Angie was pregnant. I would lose my life to a small blonde lady swinging an out of control shovel. I ask Ang what she was saying? Ang responded with "Hello." But I knew that through that smile she was saying, "Come here and give me a huge so I can hit you with this lovely metal shovel that Mierau bought." A shiver ran through my body. Ang could tell something was bothering me and asked, "Whats wrong?" With a quiver in my voice I said, "She Scares Me!!" Ang laughed, which made me more uncomfortable and we opened the door to greet the lady with the shovel. Her hair was matted, and knotted with chucks of dirt hanging from it. Her voice crackled with, "Hello."  I nearly lost my breath as she huged me. I closed my eyes and am sure I started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Out of respect for Ang and her parents I couldn't run, so I stayed close to Ang, asking her not to leave me alone with her.
For 5 minutes we watch Erv move a pile of dirt from one area to another. Ev showed us the property, and the mysterious 6 foot deep hole. I asked what that was for. Ev just laughed and said, "You'll find out!"

Well, I did survive that visit and all visit since Ang and I have married. But there is something strange I can't figure out? Ev claims that she broke her foot on a icey parking lot!? This happened right around the time Angie broke up with her boyfriend before me!? Ang tells me not to worry, but deep down I still don't know what that 6 foot deep hole was for.

This is Ev... No not the one in the front. When I was home, doing school, we would spend our days playing games and drinking coffee. She doesn't scare me as much, anymore!!!

Watch Out

Warning: The Man Below is Easy!!

If you see him: Please call his wife ASAP!

Do not communicate with him. He is known to speak nonsense, and also talks people into jobs that he doesn't know the definition for. He likes to implement long term plans that only become longer as the end date looms. He likes to make witty jokes, lulling the people around him, into believing that he is making progress. He likes to state, "that walking is good," yet he drives 30 feet to look for lost items. Don't be fooled by his charm and good looks. Avoid him at all cost.

"He maybe Armed and Dangerous with a
Blackberry, and a Starbucks!"

Don't Eat That

"Warning... this blog may contain details about Don, that you are not ready to hear and wish you never would hear. If you choose to read on; than you do so at your own risk... Enjoy!"

As most young boys I really loved to play. I played in the snow, the sand, the mud, and the rain. I played with G.I. Joes, with cars, with planes, and with bikes. I rarely remembering being without a friend to play with, be it girl or boy, growing up.

Like most kids when I was playing, the last thing I wanted to do was go home to use the washroom. Being a boy, I was lucky because I was able to go pretty much anywhere to pee, but when it came to the #2 duty I couldn't just drop it. I would have to leave my friends, the fun and make the long or short trip home to use the toilet. Mentally this was a momentous task and one I rarely achieved. Instead, I would decide not to sacrafice the time with my friends. I would tighten every muscle in my body and keep the brown snake at bay. This way I was able to enjoy all my time as a kid with my friends instead of on the throne.

Amazingly sometimes the snake would sneak a peak and I would punish it with a swift Guillotine... enough said. I guess as the day progress these little nuggets would dry out and stay trapped in the valley. Eventually the day would end and I would need to go home for dinner. It would be at these times that I would notice something strange in my under pants. I remember clearly going #1, and feeling something rolling around. Being a boy, I wouldn't just pull down my underwear and grab the freedom fighter, but would wiggle the nugget into my pants and shake my leg. In excitement I would feel the nugget making it's way down my pant leg and make it's grand appearance rolling on the bathroom floor like a model making her way onto the runway. I remember contemplating the day, trying to determine the exact moment I created the nugget.

After the model strutted it stuff, I would quickly grab it with my hand, put it in toilet paper, and deposit it into the watery grave.

As I sit here typing this, I never remember actually washing my hands after these little adventures. I guess this never hurt me since I am telling you the story!!

**No Brown Snakes were harmed in the making of these Nuggets**

My Obscure Drug.

When life is crazy or just the normal day to day routine, I like to listen to classical music and drift away. It's not often I do this, but when it happens it is magical. My mind seems to get lost in the music. I pretend I am conducting, or jumping from note to note. I imagine I am watching the orchestra perform in a famous theatre. I'm dressed up, relaxing in the crowd, taking in the sights and the sounds. Beside me is the woman I married and we just are.

Lifes problems don't seem so big. The special moments seem to grow to the size of mountains. My spirit is overwhelmed and my mind is clear to dream, explore, and rest.

The music is like a drug. A drug that you reach for at the unexpected moments. I drug you have hidden in the medicine cabinet, forgotten about until one day it falls and hits you on the head. This happened just moments ago. I was watching a Youtube clip of a boy born blind and crippled. Despite this, at the age of two he was playing simple piano songs. Later he was playing "Clair de Lune" Clair de Lune ,as soon as my ears heard the first note my heart paused, my body relaxed, and my mind grew clear. Life stood still.

Why I have this overwhelming passion for classical, I am not sure. I didn't grow up listening to it, but it rests deep inside me and for the moments that it awakes I fall into it's path and get swept away.

Please...!

This is my wife! She is sweet, innocent and my best friend. But there is a darker side to this woman and it came out one night while the family was about to sit down at the table.

Growing up, I never really had games night unless it was a special occasion like Christmas. In Angie's family game night are a regular tradition. They're times of eating, socializing and bonding. The only problem is I never get to bound with Ang! You maybe thinking... Why? Well,  Ang has a strong feeling that she never wants to be my partner during games because I bring her down.  I plead with her everytime we play games, but she looks at me with her puppy dog eyes and says, "I love you, but no." I walk to the washroom and cry for 20 minutes and return with the resolve to beat Angie in the game.

We have been married for almost 9 years and I have never been her partner during table games. Although this is my heartaches, I love her very much and would never trade her in for anything. I have found a great teammate, who I will call Can-Am. Can-Am and I have had a winning record since I was let go as a partner by my dear wife.

Although, we are partners and teammates in every other aspect of our life we just can't overcome the game playing teamwork.

I Love You Ang!

Sidewalks

I walked. I haven't walked like that for about 3 months. I am starting to deceive myself that spring is just around the corner and I will be riding my bike.
The problem is I'm a fair weather rider. The temp. has to be 10 or above for me to really get out the shorts and jersey and ride. So, I will probably be waiting until March or April.

On Saturday
I sat all day.

The End

1.15.2010

Simple to End

It's simple tonight, as I look back at the day. Morning paper work. Afternoon relax and listen to stories. Evening, Edmontonian reunion masked as a Birthday Party, at a Japanese All You Can Eat! Late Evening... talk with family and try to help wife figure out what the kids did to the computer. Sleep.

No fancy story, No truth spread thin so it starts to break. Just a simple day in a complex world. You can fill in the details, you can make the story. I will save mine for another day.

One Morning

These stories are dedicated to my very precious children who make me; laugh, cry, tired, smile, frustrated, giggle, fatigued, joyful, energetic, crazy, and yes sometime angry!

One Morning

"One morning when you were both still sleeping. Livi was snoring and Kaeden was farting. I woke up and walked to the living room to see Grandpa riding a cow and playing baseball
with a cougar and bear."

"One morning when you were both sleeping, I woke up and  saw Notch driving the Quad and Dizzy riding the tube. Dizzy hit the pump so hard that she flew right into Nana and Gandpa's bedroom."
(Notch and Dizzy are our cats)

"One Morning when you were sleeping, I saw a baby elephant playing with a gaint black spider, and dinosaurs were roasting marshmallows over the fire."

"One morning when you were sleeping, I saw Nana riding Sophie down the road and Snow Bear was teaching Big Beak how to get to the moon on a paper airplane."
(Sophie - a small Yorkie; Snow Bear & Big Beak - teddy bear and teddy penguin)

"One morning when you were sleeping, mom and I went outside and played tag with a cat, dog, two alligators, and a hourse; whoes name was Martha... yes like Martha the dog."

"One morning when you were sleeping, I woke up because the front door was open and in your room was a family or racoons having a tea party and Notch was dressed in a girls costume."

"One morning when you were sleeping, I woke up and Mommy was standing on the roof and singing, "Good morning, Good morning, Good morning. It's time to rise and shine." Waking up everyone in Sorrento."

"One morning when you were sleeping, I woke up and Livi was sleeping on her head and Kaeds was sleeping on the book shelf."

"One morning when you were sleeping, I woke up and Martha the Dog, was cooking pancakes for Clifford the Dog, who was reading a story to Little Bear, who was building a fort for Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, who was playing the drums for George Shrinks, who was washing the dirty dishes for
Martha the Dog."

"One morning when you were sleeping, I woke up and the Easter Bunny was wearing Santa's jacket and the Tooth Fairy was trying to take the Easter Bunnies teeth."

"One morning when you were sleeping, I woke up and I was all done school and didn't have to live in Toronto anymore."

The Moment

When you see this picture, and take a good look at the lady in the chair, what comes to mind??

  1. She looks crazy!
  2. She must love her son!
  3. She is happy and would never hurt a soul!
  4. She's his Mom?!
  5. Why did he turn out so strange?!
Yes, crazy to think but this wonderful person is my Mom! She didn't pass on any of her good looks to me. So I went through multiple face lifts to look half as good as she does. As to my being very strange; my family is still going through counselling trying to figure out what went wrong.

I know I am not adopted because I do share my strange sense of humour with my Mom and beloved sister. My wife sometimes just looks on in amazement as we laugh at the strangest or driest of situations. Like Corner Gas . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr4Odcum6PI

My Mom does love me, but she is not as innocent as she appears. There was a moment when my soul was changed forever. That Moment took place when I was approximately 5 or 6 of age:

It was a late summer afternoon in Abbotsford, B.C., and I waited excitedly for my Mom to arrive home from work. She carried my treasured bike which had gone in for a pimpn' overhaul. I was sitting at home waiting because I was serving a weekly punishment for fishing at the local lake a little passed my allocated time. As a young man trying to provide food for my Mom and sister, it never made sense that I was punished for working overtime? Whenever I did bring my spoils home, I ended up being the only one to eat them.

As my Mom pulled into the driveway in her brown 1984 Mustang, I dashed to meet her and free my bike from the Mustang’s clutch. I was thrilled, pumped and driven to take my bike for a test ride. I leaped on and pedalled as fast as I could. I can still hear my Mom clearly say, “Just a quick ride and don’t go far.” The air flowed through my wispy hair. The motor purred and time seemed to stand still.

I travelled approximately 100 yards down the street, when I ran into some of my friends. Knowing I was not allowed to go far, I quickly said "Yo," and darted home.

Mom had a funny look on her face. A look I had unfortunately seen many times before! I quietly put my bike away and knew that I was to go to my room. After what felt like 100 lashing, which actually turned out to be one, I was informed that I was to spend the night in my room. To add insult to injury I was also informed that I would be under the strict supervision of my sister as Mom adventured out to the Mall. I thought I was pretty smart and spouted, "that's fine I have toys to play with in here!!" Stupid, I just couldn't keep my mouth shut. Mom grabbed the toys and exited the room as I tried to refresh her mind of what she had said as I road away.

Time slowly drifted by. A dirty plate was shovelled under the door. The only thing remaining was residue from the mashed potatoes and meat loaf; as the door bulldozed the rest of it as it went under. I found a grass stained sock to chew on, but the hunger pains would not subside.

Then the door opened.... She was like an angel. A halo of light from the hall outlined her in majesty. "This must be it; I am free from my prison?" Instead my sister handed me the phone, like a guard at a maximum security prison. "Hello...?" It was Mom! I asked if I was allowed to come out. With laughter in her voice she explained that I was not free from my hole. I tried to reason with her but it was no hope. My spirit was crushed. The sweet lady in the picture, was not simply calling to check up on me, but was coldly calling to drive home that fact that she was at the Mall shopping while I was stuck in my room.

I gently gave the phone back to the guard and blacked out; suppressing the overwhelming pain I felt at that exact moment.

This real life story is the defining moment of why I am the way I am.

Thanks Mom... Love you! : )

One at a time!!

Painful... so Painful! Is it the fact I really want to be at home or is it that I just don't want to focus at putting a report together!? I think it's both.
I just finished my Oral Ecology part and it took me approx. 7 hours! Arrgh! It was like having one hair in my leg pulled at a single time. It is done now, unless I need to touch things up, but now it is just my DMFT report and than our small group project for Health Promo.
School is quickly coming to an end for this semester. I am excited, but nervous to get everything done so I can be home for those two weeks.

The sad part about this day is that those last 7 hours were the time I really had any feelings for anything. The day was a numb day, full of talking, sitting, and day dreaming! I guess it is better to feel something, than feel nothing at all!

I know something that will make me laugh before bed. Modern Family... if you haven't seen it than you got to give it a try!

Drippy

Have you ever sat in a room for a purpose but felt far from achieveing it. That happened today. For close to two hours I was informed of procedures I will most likely never do, or assist in. The pictures were interesting but the words drifted slowly over my head and I didn't even make the attempt to grab at them. Others napped, some text, and some looked at other work. I got lost in my thoughts; "like why every morning I walk to the bus stop, get on and find a warm seat and than feel a big ball of liquid resting on the edge of my nostril waiting for the right time to achieve freedom." Generally I attempt to pull the runaway back with a powerful vacuum inhale... but to no sucess. I then check my pockets for a kleenex/napkin, which I have from my breakfast... but if I don't have it then it is to the back of my hand. (Gross... I can hear it now, but what else am I to do). I always wonder who has caught me sneaking a swipe at my nose. Usually by 30 minutes into my trip the drip has arrested and I am waiting to sardine myself onto the subway.

Pizza Week

“Brinkley is my dog. He loves the streets of New York as much as I do. Although he likes to eat bits of pizza and bagels off the sidewalk and I prefer to buy them.” ~ Joe Fox (You've Got Mail)

I was going to save this for tomorrow, but I am really excited about this, so there is no need to wait. The week of January 18th - 24th is going to be my Pizza Week.

Every time I think to eat out, I shop at the grocery store, or want to cook at home, I always lean towards pizza. The variety is outstanding... white dough, whole wheat dough, tomato sauce, ketchup sauce, ranch sauce, oil and basil, BBQ sauce, no sauce at all. Cheese... well the list is enormous. Toppings... Vegetable - red, yellow, orange, green peppers, tomatoes, onions, potato slices, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, green onions, mushrooms, and on and on and on. Meat - ground beef, salami, smookies, pepperoni, chicken, sardines, ham, tuna (Yuk), and then of course meat alternatives.

You get your carbs, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and some liquid all combined into a beautiful pleasing circle of goodness. Pizza can be served cold or hot, for breakfast, lunch and dinner and for the diehard fans for snacks also.

My plan is that sometime this week I shall go shopping for ingredients and on Saturday I will prepare 3 large pizzas, bake them, cut them and package them for the week. I will need 28 pieces, each day will require 2 pieces for lunch and 2 pieces for dinner (Breakfast I will have my usual of bread and nutella). At the end of the 7 days I will decide how it went and maybe start another 7 day meal idea.

If you have any comments as too different combinations to try on pizza I would be very interested in hearing them because I don't want to just stick to the norms of Pineapple and Ham. Please remember that I am on a student budget so I can't do like Lobster and Steak.

Pizza for a week... I can't wait!

Sun on My Face

WOW... thoughts, thoughts, and thoughts! Picking, scrambling too many things to write, need to have some structure. I get a great thrill out of the idea that I can write and no one is marking it, telling me to change this, or change that. Write clearer, write with meaning, write an argument and please give 5 reasons why you believe it to be right.

That sun can cut through the coolest of days, warming the skin and the heart. The sky was blue but the air cut. Riding "The Rocket," has a different feel to it on the weekends. Maybe it's the fact that the weight of work, school, relationship, and duty isn’t riding the transit those days. People relaxed, as if their feet aren't touching the ground. There is more the sound of young children playing, talking, and asking random questions while the parent reads, looks out the window, or responds back with pleasure in their voice. In my situation I can view, observe as a fly on the wall... the only one I correspond with is myself and the one who made me. No music in my ears, just the murmurs and shuffle of the people around.

By yourself, people around, it is easy to get lost in your thoughts, down a street, in a store, and on the subway. The only one calling, "Don keep going, you should go do something," is Don. I could see how people would go crazy being alone, but with the support of Family and Friends the ground I walk stays firm.

The stone and brick building was the fullest I have seen it. An old pipe organ sores high above, two old large fire places on either side. Metal signs with names of ones that fought in WWI & WWII. Beautiful wood craftsmanship and seats that hover over clouds of green carpet. Sitting people from different backgrounds, different ideas and different voices. Learning of the one that called them there.

Time slipped by and timed ended pondering what to do; I purchased not one but two pizza rolls from "Cobs Breads." Having two puts my best friend beside me even though she is 4000km's away. The rolls were excellent as Bloor passed by... Police working the corners, lights were out.

Gap loomed calling to the card in my pocket.... not today Gap... I'm too picky to explore the racks. I strolled to the underworld and headed home... with an idea for simplicity I will explain no more.

An Idea Takes Birth

So I woke up this morning with big plans to finish all my school work, eat healthier and relax watching T.V., but instead I decided to start a blog. So many times I have been riding

"The Rocket," (Toronto's wishful thinking for the transit system) and thought I really should journal my happenings and thoughts from the day. So today it starts, but now it will be shared with people close and near, that are brave enough to read what actually goes through my head. I don't always plan to write in beautiful sentences that flow with purpose and meaning. Thoughts might be scattered, disconnected, and come from left field but this is how I think and look at the world.

As for the school work... well it will get done and as for the healthier eating... Well, I was blindsided by prehistoric creatures, in many colours, that were hiding under my bed. I heard them scratching at the plastic container trying to get out and I couldn't help to oblige in giving them their freedom only to find their end.

I should clarify one thing; the transit system in Toronto is pretty darn good. I can get everywhere I really need to get and I can only think of a handful of times when I was troubled by situations with the TTC. But I do look forward to nicer weather when I can ride my bike the 22kms, in 50mins, to school instead of taking the TTC, which takes 1hr: 15min to go to the same location.

So the idea has started, the unhealthy eating is back under the bed, and school goes to the top of the list... with T.V. sure to follow!
